On September 13, 2008 history was made as Old Dominion University officially opened the Powhatan Sports Complex, a 58,000 square foot center that was designed to provide ODU with the preeminent NCAA field hockey and lacrosse competition facility in the country.
The building also plays an important role in the re-establishment of the school's football program.
