This project provided new construction and improvements of government facilities for Langley Air Force Base, Langley, VA. The 54,175 square foot, two story, fitness center supports exercise, health and fitness activities. This includes the renovation of the existing racquetball court which will be incorporated into the new building. The new facility has a cardio and free weights area, gymnasium, seven lane indoor pool, administration areas and health education areas.

This is a structural steel building with masonry construction on concrete spread foundations and a concrete slab. The exterior finishes match the architectural theme of Langley Air Force Base and have masonry similar to the surrounding buildings. Site work involved extension of utilities and included several options for traffic improvements and a significant sand fill to establish the proper building elevation. Construction included plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire protection, alarm/reporting, and communications.
