Today we are featuring one of our completed recreation center projects: the Old Dominion University Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
The ODU Recreation & Wellness Center involved the demolition of an existing field house and the creation of the 121,000 SF state-of-the-art recreation facility built around the existing 31,000 SF natatorium.
Along with the existing natatorium and locker rooms, the facility contains a 15,000 SF fitness center that holds cardio and weight equipment and a CrossFit area. On the second floor, there’s an elevated jogging track that passes by a three-court open gymnasium and a multipurpose activity court. The recreation and wellness center also includes an 8-lane, 25-yard indoor pool that reaches depths between 4 and 15 feet.
